Last night, I went to C’s house for birthday dinner. Her brother used to work at Blowfish Sushi, and he and his girlfriend made the most amazing dinner I’ve ever eaten. They even made me some non-fish sushi, and there was plenty else to eat as well.
C is an amazing woman. She has taught me a lot about life. She is strong and independent and the coolest person I know. Happy Birthday, C. Here’s to decades more!

Wednesday night, I realized that my DSL had a flashing red light and that there was no dial tone. I forgot to call on Thursday. Friday afternoon rolled around and I called. They said I could have an appointment on Friday afternoon, but I couldn’t really work at home without my DSL. So the guy came out on Saturday.
The appointment was for anywhere between 8 am and 4 pm. Somewhere around 3, the guy showed up. He was very pleasant and let me what what he was doing. The line from the box to the office was fine. So why was my line dead? Someone had cut the line to my apartment.
I asked how that could happen. They were just cut right off. It did freak me out a bit. Who would cut my phone line and why? I’m sure it was just an accident, but still freakish.
Computer is back on now, so I can catch up on my blog. =)

Friday night, I went out ice skating in Palo Alto. I managed to get through the entire evening without falling, but I didn’t really try much either. I’m getting better though. Not going to be a hockey player anytime soon though!
Met RA R. Come to find out, she and I were Resident Assistants in the same dorm at school years apart. Quite a coincidence. I missed having her as a student in CS1 by a year.
Went out for drinks and dessert afterwards at the Cheesecake Factory. The mojito was a little weak, not nearly enough mint. They had run out of something for the mint julep. And they were also out of strawberries. Sad, but true.
Overall, it was a fabulous evening of great conversation and fun. B was kind enough to send photos again.
