107˚

It has been a little toasty here for the past few days.  On Saturday, I caught the tempature gauge in my car at 103˚.  Yesterday, when I had the top down and was driving to pick up pizza for people working, I saw it read 107˚.  I tried to take a photo of it, but that was a little hard to do while on the highway.  I kept getting pictures of the road.  Go figure.  Today, it was 100˚ at 4pm when I came to work.  (Yes.  4pm.  Don’t eat at J&J Hawaiian BBQ.  My stomach still hasn’t forgiven me from the food poisoning last night.)  They started turning off the lights on us at work.  Just a reminder to shut off everything you possiblly can.  So I only have three of my computers running and one light.  Seems we are running out of power around here.  If anyone wants to send us some…

And yes, the tempature isn’t really that bad.  Humidity is only at 40%.  If we were on the east coast, I’d be dying in this heat.  Heard you all had some of this last week sometime.  Maybe you still have it.  Well, just for verification, here is the tempature gauge on my car on Sunday.  (Notice I still had the top down! =)

Maybe it’s because I was born in the desert, but I’ve never minded the heat; it’s the humidity I can’t stand! It could be 75 outside, but if the humidity is too high, I have to turn on the a/c to dry it out. Yesterday it was about 85, but I had all the windows open because the humidity was low, so it was quite pleasant.Heh… it can’t be that bad out if you’ve still got the top down on your car!

Yeah, the weather isn’t bad at 106.  Today’s humidity is nearing 50% and the temp is a little lower, but that is starting to make it more uncomfortable.  People around here think that humidity==earthquake weather.  I asked my geologist friend.  He says that is completely unfounded…

Your damn heatwave seems to have made its way to Connecticut. There’s an “Excessive Heat Watch” for the next two days. From WTNH: It will be hot and humid today, but Storm Team 8’s Dr. Mel says “tomorrow and Wednesday could be absolutely brutal.”The heat index, the combination of temperature and humidity, could reach 105 on Tuesday and Wednesday. The last time the state saw 100 degree temperatures at Bradley International Airport was August 9, 2001.
