Music at work

Friday, I was treated to a small concert at work. Paul, who has a SF House Concert Series put together a show on Friday. It took a lot to drag myself out of my office, but I skipped lunch so that I could go. Glad I did. It was well worth it.

Samantha Murphy and Mike Schmid alternated performing their songs. I loved all of their work. I laughed at Samantha’s “At the Laundr-O-mat” which tells the tale of a woman finding love while doing laundry when she is without make-up or combed hair after having spent all this time prepping herself when she goes out at night. I can’t get Mike’s “It’s All True” out of my head. Actually, all of Mike’s songs are haunting me this weekend.

I had a chance to talk to both of them after the show and they signed CDs for me. They are both fabulous, and I highly recommend you pick up their music on iTunes.
