Here is a picture of Mitsy and I at the emergency vet tonight. I know
it was an odd request for me to ask the technician to take this photo,
but I'm not sure if I have any photos of me with Mitsy and I wasn't
sure if I would ever get the chance if I didn't take it right then.

When I left for work this morning, Mitsy seemed fine. When I got home
tonight, Mitsy was disoriented and moving very slowly so I took her to
the emergency vet. While waiting in the room, she sat on my lap for
over an hour. Those of you who know Mitsy, you know that she has never
sat on my lap. The other side of the couch or next to my head is
usually the closest she gets.

The vet kept her to run blood tests and xrays and sent me home. She
just called to let me know that Mitsy is most likely in the early
stages of heart failure and may have had a blood clot when I brought
her in. Her heart and the blood vessels around her heart are enlarged,
probably as a result of the hyperthyroidism. I'm going to pick her up
at 7 am to bring her to my vet for an ultrasound and hopefully some
heart medication.

I’m very sorry, Kelly. That’s awful.
