Shopping spree

Many of you know that I hate shopping. My favorite saying is, “Shopping is hard; let’s do math.” But occasionally, it is a necessary evil.

I have been working hard to lose weight. I’ve lost 25 lbs so far and have 10 more to go before my 40th birthday in March. I want to rock my 40’s.

Last weekend, I tried on everything in my closet. Any pants or skirts that I could pull off without unbuttoning were tossed. Any shirts or tank tops that fell off my shoulders when they weren’t designed to do so were tossed too. While I was at it, anything that I’d be chided for wearing in What Not To Wear got put in the same pile. That pile now looks like this:

There are actually three piles there. And that doesn’t show the dresses. So now, the non-dress side of my closet looks like this:

Except for tshirts, workout gear, and dresses, that is everything I have left. That side used to be filled.

I wasn’t planning on shopping until I lost the last 10 lbs, but, I was sick of pulling my pants up constantly, and I didn’t like the baggy look. So, I took advantage of tax-free, outlet shopping with my mom in New Hampshire. I acquired bags full of clothes.

And now, I have to figure out how to get them all into my carry-on bag. I did leave two, too-big pairs of pants with Mom.

How many layers do you think I can wear on the plane?
